India's #2 Globally Ranked Public Health Institute
The PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences (PHFI-IPHS) is India's first and only Deemed University established exclusively to advance public health education, research, and practice. Notified by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under Section 3 of the UGC Act (Gazette dated 5 July 2025), PHFI-IPHS grants academic autonomy and degree-awarding rights across its three campuses.
Building on the decade-long legacy of the PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences (PHFI-IPHS) at Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, and Bengaluru, and backed by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), which is ranked #2 in the world by PHAR, PHFI-IPHS is shaping India's next generation of public health leaders, researchers, and policymakers.
Choosing the best MPH college in India means choosing an institution where public health is not a department, it is the entire purpose. That institution is PHFI-IPHS.

Transitioning from medicine to public health, my MPH journey at PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences strengthened my passion for community health. The strong academic foundation, meaningful field exposure, and consistent mentorship helped me secure a placement at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital even before my final results.
Through the MPH Program and research opportunities at PHFI-IPHS, I gained skills in mixed-methods research, qualitative mental health data, and climate risk evaluation. I am currently a Consultant-Research Assistant on a Wellcome Trust project, translating health data into policy recommendations for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
With a Doctor of Pharmacy background, my MPH at PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences transitioned me into public health research. I now work as a Research Assistant for the UNICEF-funded ACECD project, building data quality and monitoring processes for child health screenings across Andhra Pradesh under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK).
